A One-Time Consultation & Its Long-Term Effects

Some time in March last year a young woman from Germany came to see me for an extended consultation. She visited again a few days ago, and I asked her to share her experience, as it might be helpful and encouraging to others. In the sense that idea always is, to make good use of the doctor’s advice to take the matters of your health into your own hands – in other words: to become active, even pro-active.

Here is what she wrote:

I came here very tired and without energy. I knew that something must have been wrong, but doctors in Germany couldn’t help. They didn’t take me seriously, or just asked me to take some prescriptions to remedy my stomach problems. But they never really tried to find out what the problem really was. So, I am really thankful that I came here.”

“Upon Dr. Shikha’s advice, in the course of the last 10 months, I stopped taking oral anti-contraceptive pills & did complete a liver and kidney detox regimen, plus a parasite cleanse for parasite removal.”

“A few weeks later I started doing sports. That changed a lot for me, and I feel much better in my own body now. Recently, I decided to complete an 8-week stomach cleanse with the help of rainforest herbals, but still could feel that there is much more poison in my system than I could imagine. Of course, I had reduced my sugar intake months ago, but the though that I could suffer from fructose intolerance crossed my mind only now. So my next step will be to figure that out.”

“Summing all of this up, I have to say that a new life started for me 10 months ago, and one of the best things is that I now can get up early in the morning rather than sleeping in – which hadn’t been able to do since childhood.”

“I also have to add that I did a blood test for allergies so that I know what to eat and what not. I should not touch milk, soy, peanuts, pineapple & seafood. Since I have been a vegetarian all my life, it seems hard for me to find a healthy way of eating. But I now also think of trying out some organic meat and eggs. As I was raised by my parents not to eat meat, this is a big step for me.”

The point in sharing this is that for some who are listening to good advice, even one or two consultations with an experienced functional medicine doctor can work wonders. All it takes is to follow the advice and become active.

I will honor the patient’s privacy, but can share a just a little bit of background information: the young woman studied inter-media design in both Germany and India, and presently works as a media artist in Berlin.
