Oxygen molecule has two atoms of oxygen(O2) in it. One additional atom of oxygen converts it into an Ozone molecule. In nature, the conversion of oxygen to ozone can be found in thunderstorms or near the seashore. However, ozone can also be created artificially with the help of a machine, or generator.

At room temperature, ozone is a colorless gas with a characteristic smell. It represents a highly energetic form of oxygen. Due to its powerful oxidizing nature, ozone is applied all over the world to disinfect the drinking water in water treatment installations.
Medical ozone is a mixture of pure oxygen and pure ozone. Due to its powerful energizing and oxidizing abilities, the ozone/oxygen mixture is used as a bio-oxidative therapy to detoxify and cleanse the body at the cellular level.

At Healthy Healing Center, various forms of ozone therapy are used:
Systemic applications:
- Intravenous Ozonated Saline: 200-300 ml of freshly ozonated Normal Saline Solution is infused over a 30-45 minutes period. Most commonly used method for anyone who needs ozone therapy.
- Ozone application via rectal route (rectal insufflation): Ozone at a flow rate of 100-200ml/minute is introduced into the rectum. Rectal form of ozone provides both systemic and local benefits. Beneficial in Gastro-intestinal disorders.
- Ozone application via vaginal route (vaginal insufflation): Ozone is introduced into the vagina at a flow rate of 100-200ml/minute. Is useful for pelvic and lower abdominal diseases.
- Major Auto Hemo Therapy: In Major AHT, 50-100 ml of blood is withdrawn, mixed with Ozone externally and then is infused back into the system. This form of therapy is beneficial for general improvement of the immunity as well as for serious health disorders.
- Minor Auto Hemo Therapy: 5-10 ml of the blood is withdrawn, is ozonated outside the body and then is injected as an intra-muscular injection. Very useful for allergic disorders.
Topical applications:
- Ear insufflation: Ozone introduced through ear is beneficial in head and neck diseases. Most commonly used for common cold, sore throat and sinusitis.
- Inhalation of Ozonated Olive Oil Vapors: This a special way of local application of ozone into the bronchi and lungs. It is used only in some cases, with serious lung diseases.
- Ozone Bagging: Useful for treatment of localized skin diseases; inflammations, ulcers, non-healing wounds etc.
- Ozonized Water: Freshly ozonated water is beneficial for both local application on external wounds and inflammations, and for drinking.
- Ozonized Oil: Used as an ointment for pain relief, and as an antiseptic.
