         Accomodation

You will be able to choose from many different options for your accommodation, if you come to Goa specifically to avail yourself of the treatments at Healthy Healing.  There are a number of high-end boutique hotels, all located in a six-kilometer radius from the center.  There are more moderately priced hotels, near and far from the beach.  There are guesthouses.  You can even rent your own room, or your own house.  Your choice entirely depends on preference and budget.  If you wish to find out more about the two places where Healthy Healing provides the staff for in-room therapeutic massages, you may now go to

You are by no means limited to looking for accommodation in Anjuna itself.  Many nearby villages, such as Assagao or Siolim are actually more peaceful and serene. As the rates for scooter or motorcycle rentals are affordable, transportation is not an issue.  In addition, your own vehicle will give you the chance to explore the beautiful surroundings or visit less crowded beaches to the north of Anjuna.   However, make sure to bring an international driver’s license, as the police frequently spot checks.  Of course, taxis are also available everywhere.

         Air Transportation

If you notify us in time before your arrival, we can arrange for a taxi to pick you up at the airport. Otherwise, there is a pre-paid taxi counter before you exit the arrival hall. We suggest that you use their services to avoid unpleasant haggling with a driver who may prey on the unsuspecting.

Beverages and Local Foods from Roadside Food Stalls

At Healthy Healing Center, we will offer you freshly ozonized water, juices or herbal teas. Thus bacterial or viral infections are not an issue. Otherwise, while traveling in India, stick to boiled teas and sealed bottles of soda or mineral water to avoid unpleasant surprises. As long as you are not acclimatized, avoid eating at roadside food stalls. However, the small restaurants along the beach are generally hygienic enough for visitors from northern climates, as they cater mostly to tourists from around the globe.

         Electronics

Electrical outlets in India are 220 volts, 50 Hertz. This is likely to be incompatible with most appliances from the United States and other countries using the 110 volts, 60-Hertz standard. If you have an electrical appliance, which you need to use, please check to be sure it is compatible before plugging it in.
In Transit: ?Chances are, you will have to fly into India via Bombay or another major airport where you will have to transit from the international to the domestic airport to catch your flight to Goa. You carrier will arrange for free transportation between airports. If you need to stay overnight, please arrange in advance for a suitable accommodation, or you can also contact the hotel counter in the arrival hall before you exit the international airport.

         Immunization

None are required from the United States or Europe.

         Money Exchange

Money can be exchanged at the airport. Traveler's checks get a slightly better exchange rate than cash. You need your passport in hand to change money. You can also use credit cards to pay for purchases in Indian Rupees. Small local traders usually only accept cash. So does the Healthy Healing Center.

         Places to Visit

Goa is one of the main tourist attractions in the country. Consult the Lonely Planet or any other guide to find out, which points of interest you may want to explore.

         VISA/Passport

All foreign nationals need a passport and a tourist visa for entering India. Tourist visas are usually issued for a 3- or 6-month period, except for United States nationals who can apply for a 10-year tourist visa. Contact the Indian Embassy or Consulate in your country for the exact details, or have your travel agent arrange your visa for you.

         Weather/Seasons/Clothing

India has a monsoon climate, which means it rains heavily for about four months in the year, whereas in the remaining eight months there is no precipitation at all. The most pleasant months (for those used to moderate climates) are November through February, which are similar to a European or North American summer. Mid-March through mid-June are the hot months, when temperatures can soar into the mid- and high 30s Celsius during the day. However, as Anjuna is located near the beach, there often is a pleasant breeze even during the hot season. The rainy season usually starts between late May and mid-June, with sometimes very heavy rainfalls for days on end. It usually lasts to mid- or late September. During the rains the weather cools down, but temperatures soar the moment there is a lull and the sun comes out from behind the clouds. Temperatures in October are similar to March. During monsoon and between December and February, you may need a light cotton sweater or jacket in the evening. Otherwise, only choose clothing suitable for hot summer weather. Leather shoes are not necessary except for formal dining or similar occasions. Generally, sandals will do just fine.
